IPRN Membership

Briefing notes

What is the IPRN?

  • A world-wide organisation formed in 1995 by independent communication and PR consultants
  • Established in the five continents, it currently has 31 members who are respected and successful professionals in communication and PR with extensive experience and knowledge of their respective countries and cultures.
  • IPRN members require an international profile, think globally and perform locally with great success.
  • IPRN members manage their own companies and are independent of any multinational ownership.
  • The companies in the network work to high quality standards and produce excellent results within budgets.
  • They have the appropriate size to offer all the basic services that are required in a Press & PR agency with a high degree of added value and local knowledge.

Working System

  • The organisation provides members' clients with the resources of working internationally, through the associates they select.
  • The members do not have any formal financial interests between themselves. Their main interest is the achievement of the results that their clients look for and the exchange of business and information.
  • The network has a code of conduct which is conditional for all members.
  • The members are periodically informed with news from each associate concerning their organisation, clients or projects and experiences that contribute to the best transfer of knowledge and experience.
  • The Board of Directors, Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Administrator, and the Chairmen of the Committees are elected annually.
  • New members are incorporated after a formal application and following a due diligence process proving capacity, expertise and the spread of markets and skills of the new associate plus supportive references from two clients, one non-client contact and their national PR Association (if appropriate), followed by the approval of the majority of the members.
  • The members hold periodic regional meetings on specific topics and once a year an General Annual Meeting (AGM) is held in a different member country, lasting 3/4 days, to decide together about the development of the organisation and to approve strategies, actions and budgets.

General Annual Meeting

  • As a plenary meeting of all members, the AGM is the supreme opportunity for member decisions and control of the organisation.
  • At this annual meeting, the following topics are normally handled:
    1. Definition of objectives and strategies to be developed through the following year.
    2. Evaluation of the previous year. Assessment of the general work, the business associations and commissions and results.
